The experimental section should be written clearly and in sufficient detail to allow repetition of the research. Materials and methods should specify instruments, samples, subjects, chemicals, etc., with detailed descriptions provided only if new methods and/or procedures and/or principles are used. For known methods and techniques, an appropriate reference is sufficient.
